All traditional and suite style* beds will be first-year beds beginning Fall 2022.

*Note that some suites may be available for non-first-year students during room swap at the end of summer. 

The process itself is not changing, just the timeline. Current Georgia Tech Students will apply for 2022-2023 Housing in phases:  

Housing and Residence Life will reserve beds for new transfer and new grad students who will enroll at Georgia Tech for Fall 2022. The waitlist will be activated as soon as we reach capacity, at which point we will update this website and the application portal. A process to request “waitlist priority consideration” is being developed and will be communicated here when ready.  

Yes. Students who had an Academic Year 2021-2022 Housing contract and canceled for spring to complete a verified co-op, internship, or study abroad are considered “current residents” and can begin applying on February 14 for 2022-2023 housing.

Students who completed a 2022-2023 housing application and are not on the waitlist have a space on campus. You can verify your application by logging in to My Housing and selecting “Application” from the menu. 

Once the waitlist is activated, any student who applies will see the message in the application portal that they are applying for the 2022-2023 Housing Waitlist. Students should complete the application and sign their contract to be added to the list. They will receive a waitlist number in one business day. Students who cancel off the waitlist do not pay a cancellation penalty. 

Students on the waitlist will have an opportunity to submit a request to receive priority consideration for available assignments. Possible reasons for priority consideration will include Fall 2022 graduation, Spring 2023 co-op/internship/study-abroad, financial need, or other mitigating factors. More information will be available when this process is finalized.  

Students on the waitlist should not expect to learn of any available assignments until July. They should consider alternative plans for fall housing.  

No. Students will begin roommate selection on February 21st and the room self-assign process will begin in early March. Time-tickets for self-assign are issued in order of Georgia Tech credit hours (more credit hours = earlier self-assign time ticket). 

No. You will not be able to select from anyone who is on the waitlist during roommate selection.  

Students who live or want to live in their Learning Community upper-class block should apply for housing as soon as possible during their designated phase. You will be asked during the application process if you would like to live in the upper-class block with your Learning Community. Remember, during roommate selection, students who selected to live in their upper-class Learning Community blocks can only select from other LC members who have also selected the upper-class block.  

WST and I-House applicants who meet Learning Community application deadlines will be reviewed by Learning Community staff. Admitted Learning Community students who apply to Housing during their designated application phase will be assigned to their respective Learning Community. Learn more about applying to WST and I-House HERE. 

All rising-second year students will have the option to select the Second-Year Experience when they complete the Housing application. Students who successfully complete their Housing application by the self-assign deadline and are admitted to 2YE will have the opportunity to select a 2YE roommate and 2YE room only. WST and I-House – Students must complete a separate Learning Community application AND Housing Application. If a student is admitted to WST or I-House while on the Housing waitlist, they will be assigned to a space in the community immediately.   2YE and Upper-Class blocks for Explore, Global Leadership, Grand Challenges, Honors Program, and Impact – Students select to live with the community in the Housing application. If they are placed on the Housing waitlist, they will be assigned as space in their selected community becomes available.

You should plan to sign up as soon as your designated phase opens. If you end up on the waitlist, you should complete the Waitlist Priority Consideration form that will be available later in the spring semester. 

Monthly Graduate Housing at Tenth and Home is not impacted by these changes. 2022-2023 Family/Monthly Housing Applications will be accepted beginning January 31, 2022. 

Any student who applies to be a Resident Assistant and wants to live on campus even if they are not selected should apply for Housing during their designated application phase. Students who are not selected for an RA position are not automatically provided on-campus housing.  Remember, RA’s (for apartments) can pull in one roommate - that student must have a completed housing application, they cannot be on the waitlist.
